Default I might like Big Lake

I haven't been on too many excursions to the west side to fish. I have fished in Big Lake a few times and all have been miserable. Yesterday I had the pleasure of making a trip with Salty Shaw. I have to say my outlook on the Lake is starting to change. Fishing in conditions that were favorable to start and fishing with someone who not only knew the lake but made the trip fun is all it took to bring me over to the dark side. We started the morning finding a giant school of midlake bronze bruisers blowing up mullet. Shaw was able to connect with his first redfish on the fly and I am happy to say he is know hooked! We continued the morning chasing trout on topwater able to land some decent trout. Our second stop produced the biggest trout I have ever laid hands on when Shaw landed a nice 6.5 pound donkey. Finished the day and the limit chasing around those pesky birds. Not a soul on the lake and not a pilgrim in sight...
