Thumbs up My wife is a great one!

Many now know that she was kind enough to stay in Florida for a few extra days so that I could spend the weekend hanging out with the SC movement...I'm not sure how much of that was actually for me though.

Today, she called and was telling me about her Wal-Mart experience. She was in line with our daughter getting a couple of things they needed and there was an old man in front of her with a cane and and WW-II Veteran hat on. He was fumbling around through his pockets and trying to use a card that wasn't working as debit or credit. He then hobbled over to the ATM to see if his card would work there. He maintained that it was supposed to have been loaded a couple of days ago. The ATM wouldn't do anything for him either. He then sat down on a bench and began calling someone to bring him the extra money he needed to get his groceries.

At that point, my wife asked the clerk what the bill was. It was only $12 or so. She said, I hope you don't mind(speaking ot me) but, I went ahead and paid the rest of his bill. She just didn't see how it was fair for a man, that age, with his sacrafices to have to go without. I was floored!! My day had been a huge pile of #### up to that point and, that story changed the whole course of my day! She made me so proud by doing that and I hope that old man got a smile out of it too.

After telling her how proud I was of her and wiping tears from my eyes, the only other thing I could tell her was that I wouldn't have cared if she paid his whole bill.

May be meaningless to some but, it sure made my bad day a LOT better!

awesome Corey...Respect your elders and treat them with kindness and double that for a vet...I would hope that if my grandfather, a WWII vet to boot, where in a similiar situation someone would help. we sometimes forget the sacrafice these people gave for our country be it in the military or not! And also a lesson learned for your children. Its little things like this that are slowly disappearing from our society.

great job by your wife, as a veteran and having a grandfather that was a WWII vet that really made my day, todays younger crowd has no appreciation for the military or the elderly.

I sent my Wife a link to this....she claims it's her first time sc. Lol! She said thanks to all you guys for the kind words but, it's not the reason she did what she did. It was just what should be done.

I thank you guys as well for the kind words and, I more understand why I married her and, why I am a member of this site! Ya guys are great!
