Question Freshwater City

can't seem to find where the boat launch is in freshwater city, does any one fish out of fresh water city, if so can you tell me where the boat ramp is, i went a couple of weeks ago and didn't see where the boat ramp was, the place looked like a company yard and it was gated

When you get to FWC, turn right at the locks, then you have to take another right. Look on the left and you'll see an abandoned building, and the landing is right next to it. It's been a couple of months since I was there.

Your launching south of the locks. Follow the dirt road a long ways. There's a hard dogleg right and the launch is right after on the left. Its a single launch so its hard to miss. You have to park your truck and trailer up the road before the dogleg and walk back....if you get there after daylight it'll be easier....

The yard you saw must have been the locks, so you'll make 2 rights then the landing is on the left.
I only go there to do some crabbing north of the locks, but they are easy to get through.

are there any platforms close by the mouth of the canal, i won't be in a big boat so tide shouldn't be an issue, yeah i haven't been to this sight cause of a report or two that, outsiders weren't welcome and were treated with rude comments, but i see that isn't the issue, i never got an answer as quickly as i did here thanks, and one more question, what is with the fish names under everyone's alias, mine says sandtrout, i see another with redfish, another sailfish and a king fish, is that some powerrankings or something

No doubt! Not a place to launch if you are worried about getting mud on your boat! I hate that launch with a passion!

There is a good size platform to the left as you exit the mouth of the canal. It's about 7-8 miles out but it usually treats us well. There are also a few platforms clustered to the right about 5-6 miles out.

The launch at FWC isn't marked so you have to look close or you'll pass it up. Usually, there are a couple of trucks and trailers parked next to it. I prefer to park back at the curve. More room.

Good Luck!!

Fishfighter:
As everyone has stated, follow the road making a right turn at the Freshwater Locks, continue for a couple hundred yards and the road will make another right turn. The parking area is on your left between these two turns. There are two buildings after the second right turn. The first is an old abandoned shrimp house and the second is an old abandoned ice house. The landing is on the right side of the ice house. According to Google Earth, the coordinates are:

29 33.055' N
092 18.549' W

When launching from here, be sure to stay toward the middle of the cut as the banks are very shallow, even for small boats at low tide. We regularly launch a 25 foot boat here with no problems though.

We launch a 33' Fountain there. Just keep motor trimmed up and take it slow.
