Default What kinda prop u running?

Looking at getting rid of my 20 pitch laser prop and dropping to a 19 or 18 pitch for a little better hole shot when looaded down. My understanding is that a laser prop is made for more of a pad (bass) style hull. What kinda prop are ya'll running and what are ya'lls experiences? Looking for some info on different brands so let her rip:

I run a Suzuki prop. It's a 16 x 21p. It was a 23p but I got it dropped and my hole shot and mTg are better. Lost a couple mph but I'm not into speed so it didn't matter that much to me

If I was gonna buy a new prop I would call powertech

Powertech RAF 19p Like is said on the phone, keep in mind no prop gauges what they are stamped as. The lazer props can gauge as high as 5 degrees higher than what it is stamped as. The powertechs usually gauge a one or two degrees higher than what it is stamped. If you want I can get you one from the prop shop and we can meet up in lake charles one weekend. Good thing about using them if it still does not perform like you want it to they will adjust the pitch for no additional cost within 30 days. Let me know...

I run a 21 pitch power tech prop with a double cup and love it. Can't go wrong with the powertech props.

My brother was running a 30p Spinelli on his 225 Evinrude which might explain why the lower unit is in 3,000,000 pieces on his old motor.

ive got a 19 merc. vengence and it does real well on my kenner. not quite enough pitch for my setup, plus its a little chewed up but I have no complaints. I had a spare 19 power tech with a little larger diameter that I just put on. Havent tried it yet but will post up how it does..This is on my 21 kenner w/150 merc. EFI

it ran 50.3 mph @ 5900 rpm's with the vengence(thats with about 3/8" missing at the edge) I was thinking of asking about the bravo prop if I could handle it?? Gonna give this powertech a try and see what it does, its in better shape so should pic up a few mph.

Lowest pitch the bravo comes in is a 22p...would be too much for your setup. I have ran every prop on the market, nothing runs like a mirage on a bay boat.

I wonder if they would take a trade on that vengence that I have at the Propshop?? Or if they have a used mirage??

No trade in's unless it is in perfect shape,if it needs work he has to spend money to fix it. Used mirage is hard to find, nobody gets rid of em.

Default Mirage Plus

Not sure what diameter your current prop is but i tried a 15x17 Mercury Mirage Plus and my WOT RPM's stayed the same at 5100 and my speed dropped from 50 to 43, my original prop is a 14x20 suzuki prop on a 2 stroke EFI 150 Suzuki. The hole shot was greatly improved but no top end. I am going to try a 14 x18, but gotta figure out which Powertech 3 blade to go with, there are so many to choose from. Good luck in your search.
