Default I-10 Closed from Roanoke to Jennings

There has been a hazardous waste spill on I-10. East and West lanes have been closed from Roanoke to Jennings. Officials do not know when it will be opened for travel.

Heard it was a truck leaking some sort of fluid. I'd love to know the ratio of I-10 closures over the basin caused by commercial truckers vs. people driving in cars. Why can we not have some sort of truck route ( i.e. HWY 90) for the basin. Truckers would then be able to re-enter I-10 past the basin. It would be a similar bypass for truckers for the tunnel in Mobile, ALA.
If they close down one lane east or west and you have an agenda such as trying to catch a plane, etc. Your SOL because of these truckers. Yes I know they pay road taxes, etc, etc, also but they are such a pain when they cause an accident.

Us truckers also bring the stuff you go to the store and purchase. Yes some drivers are rude and dangerous. Everyday I encounter as us truckers call fourwheelers that cut us off among other things that cause us to have wrecks. Until you have driven one of these "trucks" you have no ideal how hard it is driving one of these trucks and having to watch out for the other person.

My dad has been a truckdriver most of my life and I hear all the time how people in cars and pickups act like he can stop on a dime fully loaded.

I just got back from the road and let me tell you when it hits 5:00 in the afternoon the crazys come out in their hurry to get home after work. If these crazys had any common sense it goes out the window. Let it be known truckers cause the least accidents of anyone on the road. I for one would love a route around the Basin bridge as it sucks to be on a bridge with all of these crazy four wheelers weaving in and out of traffic. Also if the state would fix the highways you would probably see a reduction in the number of hazmat spills because trailers wouldn't be stressed all the time. Now I have another rant for everyone. Why is it when a trucker or a motorist is on the side of the road on a multi lane road people do not get in the left lane and give them space instead of passing on top of them. If on a tow lane highway at least slow down. I promise you this if I ever get hit while stopped on the side of the road my family has been instructed to sue the living hell out of the person responsible.

Let's get this straight, I'm not bashing truckers, I'm only suggesting that a more reasonable trucking "route" would be more appropriate than the present situation on the basin.

Building said roadways was part of obamas first "jobs bailout" labeled as shovel-ready jobs.
