Default ??? for the guides

I know that some guides let the client catch and keep the guides limit and some don't. But in a post ,would you post that you took ONE fisherman out and let him catch 50 trout?? (east side). and then show a pic of the client standing there over a pile of 50 trout. Seems to me that you just set your client up for an expensive ticket and fine. What say the forum?

Guy can legally take all the fish, but technically if he kept over 25 that he caught then it could be ticketed. The LEOs would have to be really nitpicking to get you on that without video evidence or an admission. I think its pretty common knowledge that goes on. Most guides I know fish most the time anyways. Especially offshore, now that the limit of snapper is 2, you can bet those 2 extra fish from the guide and deckhand are going home

I know that it goes on and possesion is 2 day limit. The guide posted that the client caught all 50 fish on the trip and then showed pic of client w/ 50 fish.

Mostly what I see is the guide in the front of the boat, catching most of the fish and the sports in the back trying to get a cast to the birds. Some guides are more generous than others but not all of them.

You are correct, most guides catch on plastic and let the sports fend for themselves with popping corks and a quart of skrimps each.

Good topic...

Where/when does "two limits in posession" expire ?

Does it only apply from when the fish is caught till its cleaned, or does "posession" include the fish that are in your freezer at home as well ???

Just sayin

Ok, legally, one person is supposed to catch/kill their limit. If a warden wants to be a stickler, he can ask me or my customers what he or she caught or killed. That person is supposed to be able to identify their game. We have customers that ask us to leave our guns in the truck, but still want to kill 18 birds. Nope, illegal. And they can't understand why. If there are only 2 guns in the blind, they can only have, in their possession, 12 birds, by law. I assume that guide could get into some legal trouble if it were given to the right person.

Most of those guides are unexperienced and are trying to make a name for themselves.....I mean I'll hook up 95% of my cast in birds and rarely do I get to cast where the birds are picking(heart of the school IMO) Most sports struggle due to ability and equipment issues vs "being out of position". My 10yr old niece can get done what some sports can't!! So with that said If I don't fish/hunt you don't get my limit too!! Some days folks would go home empty handed if I didn't help out!!

You are right, No offense intended, there are some very good guides on the lake but there are a few bad ones too. Just like fishermen, have to take the bad with the good. I fished with a guide once who never touched his rod, he netted and unhooked every fish and we caught his limit too - don't tell.
