Default 10.16.11 Not a Bad Day on Big Lake

Didn't do anything special today. The wind was blowing this morning so we just played bumper boats with the rest of the crowd and chased birds. It was a little frustrating chasing them all day because we would only pick up 1 or 2 fish on each flock. Thats the most flocks of birds I have ever fished in a single outing and we couldnt get on a good bite on any of them....at least 25 different flocks. Now the white trout were a different story....we caught them almost every cast under the birds. I estimate we caught at least 100 sandies today and they were all about 8 inches long. Once the wind switched directions and layed down a little bit around noon, we ventured into the lake and picked up 10-15 of our better sized fish over a couple reefs. You could have thrown anything under the birds today but I stuck to a sparkle beetle and my guys threw Tsunami Swim Shads. All in all a fun day on the water.
