After such a great trip yesterday, a friend from Texas came over today to get in on the action with me. We put in around 9:00 and went straight to the honey hole. Picked up a few solid fish on the first drift but they weren't eating near as good as they were yesterday, not yet. I decided to go check out some fresh territory to see if I could find a big trout that was willing enough to come home with me and hang out on my wall. Checked quite a few spots and saw some gorgeous water all around the lake, but nothing found my corky appetizing today. Noon rolled around, lunch time!...back to the honey hole we went. They were hungry and waiting on us by then, just like yesterday. Put our limit in the boat in one quick drift, then we actually got some calm weather for once so we stayed out and enjoyed it while we had it. We played catch and release on a slick Big Lake and had a blast. They weren't as big as yesterday but were still thick, quality sized trout. They were thumping it HARD today...that feeling is an addiction! I have a trout problem and I admit it. Had less luck with the corky today and had better luck with eel style baits on an 1/8 ounce jighead. Color didn't seem to matter too much, they were hungry and eating everything we threw at 'em.
