I fished Cocodrie a bunch growing up. My grandparents had a camp there. Continued to fish it a few times a year with my Dad until he passed away about ten years ago. Haven't been back since. Cocodrie will always be a special place for me. What do you want to know about it?

It is a cypress swamp lake with a channel in the middle. Almost has a "river" look. There are three pretty large bays on it. Bennetts Bay is the largest, also one called blue lake. We always launched at Clark's landing, middle lake on the east side. There is also a landing in Bennetts Bay. Bass fishing used to be good there in the fall, when the water was down and out of the swamp. Not many big ones, but lots of 12-15 inch fish, fat and stocky. Great bream fishing lake, white perch fishing was good at times, but not many big ones. You can run in the channel with no problem, unless the water is real low. Beautiful scenic lake, with tons of history. Look at it on Google earth. If you need any more information, let me know.

Its a pettytypical shallow cypress lake. They have duck blinds literally every 75 yards, dont understand how they possibly kill any but the fishing is average. I have gone and caught 1-2 and gone and caught 20 bass. I've only fished it about 10 times but never caught anything over 2 lbs. We always used to put in at Clarks.
