I read cad drawings but never use it. I took a class 3 years ago just for auto cad and my professor had never used it before. We drew a few circles and boxes and that was it. He got fired the next semester too

I think we were using 2005. It would have been nice to know how to use it in case I ever need to in any future jobs, but our professor was an idiot. In a class specifically for learning how to use cad, he had us design a parking lot on engineering paper for the mid term. That had nothing to do with using cad. It was a complete waste of time and he just assigned us random grades. Kinda sucked but oh well, at least I ended with a B

It doesnt matter. My teacher for cad was really good. But when you take a drafting class your first semester, and you are in school for 5 years, you wont retain it by the time you start work. And you will be that far behind the new editions. Go to delta tech or sowela and just take a night time drafting course. Would do some good. (I have yet to need auto cad, I work in rotating equipment)
