Default what kinda snake

This snake fell from the rafters of my garage as my wife was pulling in and i got out and beat the tar out of it...approx two footlong....black with diamond looking patterns on it...its a good snake now....DEAD!!!!!!

Are they poisonous......think i sheeet a little on myself right next to my boat...lol....i could see it now....abandoned boat in joes cove and man swimmms to dugas...

It's real name is texas rat snake. It is not venomous. Local name is chicken snake as it eats chicken eggs.
