Default Running with the bulls in Grand Isle 6/16

Due to a flat tire and other delays, we didn't hit the water until 7:20 PM, so we had to work quickly. We hit the pass and let down some crab when my brother informed me that his running lights were out and we had until 7:45 to get it done. Not one to waste time, he was soon fighting a big redfish which is around 39". After the stiff SE wind calmed down the tide was running swiftly out and it took a 6 oz wt to reach the bottom. Wrong date. Was today, Mon 6/18.

My original plan was to stay longer, but as it worked out we are only here until Thursday. Having fun though. Just got back from the fishing piers. Folks catching lots of sand trout, but disappointed that they aren't all 20" specks.

The wind is blowing hard and likely to continue blowing hard. It might be difficult to fish either the bay or the beaches, so we might be spending lots of time in the pass.

Any hints on other possibilities in the predicted winds would be greatly appreciated.

X 2 on Leeville. Many more options in the wind, much more protected. Stop in at Terry's bait ask for advice. Tell him Benjy sent you. Terry will give you some spots to hit with the wind. Good Luck.
