Default Long Day in Vermillion Bay

We left the state park early. First boat at the dam to get shrimp and croaker. Had I known how the day was going to go we owuld've stayed another 30 minutes and caught a few more.

Off to T-Bute, where we wasted most of out shrimp on 10+ lbs gafftops. Managed one 18 in. speck.

10:30 time to make a move. Wanted to go check out the worm. On the way there my friend who had been green all morning decided he was done. We headed Noerth east and dropped him at the camp.

Still had some shrimp and crokers alive so decided to fish in the bay. Caught some nice trout, a 17in red and as many craokers as you wanted. Biggest trout went 20-1/2 in. Trout bite died when we ran out of live bait. I believe if we would have spent the day in the bay we could have caught a few more. Wind was brutal all day. Not much of a tide movement.

Good day on the water. My dad had a blast fighting gafftop and catching croakers. Oh yea, when we got back to the camp my buddy was pissed that he was sleeping when we finally found a few.

Leave the landing take a left and fish by the first few camps. But, it looked like a boat show around us and we were the only ones that caught any. Live bait, It's like crack.

Thanks for the ONLY Current VB report. I'm thinking the North winds should have cleaned up the beach front some.
