Default Boat etching primer

I was looking to see if anyone has any experience with self etching primer in quart or gallon form. I'm looking to repaint an aluminum boat that has been previously painted and I want to hit it with something that I'm not going to have to do it again with. I've dealt with rustoleum self etching primer in the spray cans, but trying to do a whole boat with that is gonna take too long. I didn't know if any of the major paint/ hardware stores that would carry it in gallon or quart form so that I can spray it. Just wanted to see if anyone knew of a product that they would prefer one way or the other. Thanks in advance.
