Default Prien lake

Thinking about hitting Prien lake tomorrow. Was just wondering if it is worth the trip or if i should just fish fresh water around the house. Looking to snag a few trout and haven't really heard too much from there lately. Thanks

Salinity is still very low. I wouldn't suggest any further north than Haymark. Croakers are plentiful around Prien. Its work to catch right now. Good luck

I went 2 weeks ago. We did pretty good considering the rain. The water is plenty salty enough and the tides are dynamite tomorrow.
I am going Sunday for sure.

Lots of 10" trout. Caught some good reds and smaller flounder along the channel past few weekends

Went today after high tide and the water was muddy with poor movement. Didn't skunk but I've had better days. Started at the turnaround across from Citgo docks and the tugs were working and really making a mess of the water. Moved to haymark and picked up a couple but a tug and barge moved in and muddied things up again. Ended up at contraband bayou and the rocks across from LDL and the water was still murky.

My day ended like this, on mixed plastics and top water.

Spike in salinity this morning. If it continues on this trend look for the weekend to be decent and next week to be great.... if conditions continue to improve. September is a great month for Prien with numbers on all 3 species. Just remember to slow your roll until you findem.

The water looks 100% better this morning and everything is getting right - Caught 3 reds in 15 Minutes. Looks better and better each hour - we had a very good incoming tide this morning so it helped bring some fish and good salt water in.
