Advice......get with an experienced shooter and learn all you can from them.
Find out where there is any kind of group that shoots on a regular basis in your area and go there to learn from them. Don't set the draw weight to what you "can" pull back. Set the weight to what you can comfortably pull back. If you have to strain a little to pull the string back, that is too much draw weight. You don't need 70 lbs and 300 fps to kill a deer. Make sure that you bow is properly tuned. Test it your self,. Don't rely on "that guy at the shop set it up" so it is ok. Do a search on "Bow tuning" to learn more. If something on the bow is out of adjustment....even just a tiny bit, your arrows will not fly correctly. Practice....Practice.....Practice |

Sometimes broadheads do not fly the same as your field points. You dont want to miss (or wound) the buck of a lifetime just because you didnt shoot your broadheads. Make sure your hunting clothes are quiet while drawing and do not get in the way of your string upon release. Welcome to the club... and have fun! |

You dont need any advice... you bought a Mathews and they pretty much shoot for themself. Good choice!
You can get alot of advice on the Mathews Forums also... Lots of nice folks there that talk about nothing but bowhunting ![]() |

Congrats on the Mathews, I shot one for years! I shoot a bowtech now but they are both great bows. Going on 4 years now that I haven't shot at a deer with my rifle and I kill just as many.....just not as far away!!! You'll get a lot of good advice from the folks here on SC. Wish you luck on your first kill but make sure to let us know...
Remember, No pictures......didn't happen! |
