Great trip Ray

I fished that tournament also. Wish I would have known you were there.
We ended un with 12 reds and 22 specks. We caught more that 100 specks. Had to sort through them to get the 22. we fished the little lake, hackberry, picketts bay, and blue bayou area. Birds were working really good but all small trout under them out first stop was in the southwest cannal under birds working.
We ran all over the place tring to find bigger trout.

Was your wife the one who won the yeti from the raffel?

No, I was fishing with the 2 womens in the picture.
I don't know who that lady was who won the cooler.
Who did you fish with? You work for Shell or one of the sponsors?
We were fishing to the NW of Grand Isle. In the marshes.
We started out at the jettys, then tried to hit some reefs, but the
winds were killing us. So we moved to the marshes.
We looked for moving water around some cuts in a pipeline canal.
We had one Hard Head, 2 or 3 Ladyfish and 3 White Trout.
The rest were all kept. No throw backs. We didn't see any birds.

I fished with a couple of guys from work.
I work for Bay Ltd.
It was a pain fighting the wind. We ran south but came back north after an hour or so. The water down south was dirty.

This was the first year I fished this tournament. I kind of wish they would move it to the cocadrie area. We made the 45 minute run to cocodrie for the tournament two weeks ago.

This is just the second year for the tournament.
There was a Shell tournament in Lafitte for a while before the breast cancer one started up.
We found plenty of fish, just none big enough to weigh in. You know the conditions were bad when the top 3 Trout were less than 3 lbs.
Our best Red was around 6 lbs. and the winners were in the 7 lb. range.
Our original plan was to fish South, but that changed due to winds.
