Default New guy from MT

How's it goin guys? Just found this website while dreaming about catching reds and specks. I've been in MT for almost 20 years but I'm originally from Sulphur. Still have a bunch of family there. I'm about to submit an application to SLU's graduate school and if I get accepted, my wife and I will be making the move this summer. It's been a couple years since I've been to sulphur but every couple years I come down and do some fishing. Fished Prien lake and Big lake everything,e I come down and love every minute of it. I'm praying I get to move back down. As much as ill miss the deer and elk huntin up here, I'd love to be able to show my wife what its like to fish the birds and at the Cameron jetties.

Really missin this...

Grandparents got out of the concrete step business and were wanting to move up here. They had been coming up hunting and fishing for quite a few years. So they decided Choteau, Mt was a good place to raise kids, so we all moved when I was 6.

Wow.... That's some nice deer.

The coyote pic in the white camouflage is cool.

Does your grandpa and Uncle Jim A. still hunt?

Thank you! Pawpaw had a minor stroke a couple years ago and hasn't hunted much since. Has trouble with one of his legs. Had a knee replaced that was supposed to help with his bad leg but didn't help at all. We used to take a trip every year back in the bob Marshall wilderness 22 miles back in the mountains on horses to hunt elk but pawpaw isn't up to it anymore. Uncle Jim still drives up here every couple months for our birthdays and such and usually comes for the first couple weeks of hunting season. He doesn't hunt much though.

Anyone fish the new "Brad Vincent Memorial Reef" on Big Lake? Brad was my cousin and I did a lot of fishin with him when I would come down to visit. Hope it's producing some good fish.

Knew Brad. Me and Rusty went to school together.

The reef produced some fish. It will get better as it gets older.

I spent some time in kalispel about 10 years ago. Spend 20 days solid backpacking/telemark through Glacier in December/ January ... Friggin cold! Slept in tents every night . Great memories!

That's crazy! I've spent quite a few nights in a wall tent while elk hunting in -30 degree weather. We had a wood stove though so it wasn't to bad inside until the fire went out. Camping in the winter is a whole different ball game!
