Default plumbing issue help thanks

Any salty cajun plumbers in the lafayette area. Need advice help. Im updating my bathroom. Taking the old tube out and replaceing it with new 2 piece tube and shower walls. No problem. Taking the tile down. Place new sheet rock then installing the tub and shower.
The plumming is copper, so that's where I have the problem!!! when installing the new faucet, will the copper need to be cut/heated etc..

Basically need help are ur input. with installing the faucet being that the plumbing is copper.

it will need to be soldered. they sell compression fittings that you could make work, but behind a wall on a shower faucet is not a place to use them.

They make fittings that just snap on. They are called shark bite fittings. They are not cheap to but though.

I try to fix everything myself.

But a few years ago, when I needed to repair a leak in a copper line I hired someone to make the solder "weld" that was inside the bathroom wall.

I have watched someone make the solder connectons but just did not trust myself to try doing it.

Buddy of mine is a plumber and he uses these from time to time and said only place he had seen an issue was with putting them on soft copper, he said if its the old copper or straight copper they work great.

Its the old straight copper, I would say the house was built in 73. Ill try the shark bites. Thanks everyone for the help
