Default Lake Martin

Anyone know how deep the mail canal and feeder canals are by the sightseeing wharf on the far right side of Martin?

Are you talking about taking a right at the boat ramp and going to the end? The lake side or the canal side?

There is a deep hole (12') on the lake side if that is what you are 'axe'ing?

Lol. I bet a few!!! Caught 7 all this size on black n chart beetle spin. I wear size 12 shoe. No the saying isn't true!!! Lol. Threw em all back. Water looking better. Caught 2 on same live cypress consecutive casts others being off knees n cover slow retrieve. Others were in same area but not close like them 2. Didnt want any color under cork. Tried white, clear, blue n white, chart curl tail, pumpkin, black n chart jigs etc..., then tried them on beetle and nothing all they wanted them black n chart well really yellow striped split tail on beetle spin. Threw em all back!!! just wanted to run boat n see if I had sac blood in me. First time ever targeting them without shiners.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359415304.311504.jpg

I'm the same way. Exactly the same. But I've vowed to myself since lake Martin is close close and I can fish the good clumps with my 24' I will fish it more for sacs no slime minnows

Maybe... I haven't caught bass except for when I catch them while targeting Sacs.

A limit of sacs is more fun than any other fishing IMO. I've caught Dorado and Tuna, bull reds and trout, but something about pans brings back that most basic joy that you experienced on your first couple of trips ever as a young boy. Hard to replace those triggers to the senses with anything else.

And that's my rant.

Calcasieu river also mermantau river and lacassine bayou when conditions get right. By the looks of all the drainage canals the water is probably still high.

Check into going to Bun****s Lake up by De Ridder. I think I remember reports of people catching Sac's there.
