Slick calm this morning after it was cranking outta the west yesterday. Kudos to the weather people for nailing it. Did a different spot than yesterday, but results were a little better. Topwater was good from the word go with a few nice ones, but cooled quickly and fish were mostly smaller and they really preferred the SS jr over a She Dog. Corkies and Catch 5 drew a blank. Just don't think I was on a big body of fish , though as I was all alone. The beach had very good reports yest later in the morn and given the conditions I imagine they hammered them today. Plenty boats heading out as well.
Tide was just trickling in After falling hard yest. I don't check tides, just kinda adjust on the fly. But it was a classic up current bite on the reef and besides one other fish that was the only place they were. Not much bait, dirty green water, a lone ten lb redfish and a dozen trout. Huge drum tailing on top of the reef was a cool sight and I found a good hump basically in the middle of nowhere, which ought to hold a few fish if they ever move in on the general area.
Was pressed for time and fuel, so I'll wonder what might a been, but good to see some flushes.
