the reason they did that is because technically during state snapper season is the only time you can have snapper on your boat in state waters, so even though the federal season was open during the week it would be illegal to land any red snapper in Louisiana during the week. They were just waiting for the feds to announce the longer snapper season. Ive been knowing about this for a couple weeks. the reason they dropped it to two fish is it just makes enforcement easier
