Headed south and saw a rip over a bar and made a drift. Hooked up first cast with a Chart Swimming mullet. Poled down and squeezed out 30. Tide was going out and the bite was on and off until the tide went slack at about 7, got on anchor at 5 - water was 1.5' on one side of the bar, and the water was rolling over to a 3.5' drop, fish were running the deep side.
Coulda, shoulda, woulda had double the fish, but bites were subtle and hook sets were slackin. Chart gulp and live cocahoes did the trick, some were caught on bottom and slow retrieve, but under a cork was more consistent.
Happy for my first trip out there.
