Default Snake repellents?

Does that snake away that they sell at hardware stores work? I found a nice surprise when I opened my trash can last night! I'm not an expert on snakes, but it was a reddish brown and a pattern along the back with a large triangle shapped head on it. I didn't stay long enough to see the pattern in detail. I screamed like a beeotch and ran for the gun. I couldn't find the body after shooting it so no pics....... And yes I will need a new trash can

I've herd some old folks say to burn one in your yard and leave it there and no other snakes would come around. Not saying it works just repeating what I've herd.

Default Snake Repellent

Go to the dollar store and get the crushed stuff in the can. I think it's just the offspec stuff they can't sell. Anyway we use it and it seems to work, if you can handle the smell!

We have a jack he'll kill anything in the yard! Including flys.
