Default rutherford beach

anybody ever fished any of the canals off the road by Rutherford beach road? went down there a few weeks ago to the beach and it was too choppy to fish the surf and had the kids so didn't wanna stop off the road. I seen a lot of people fishing and crabbing so I was thinking of trying it this weekend. anybody know what they catch? all I seen was a guy holding a gar.

Rutherfords Beach road is better for crabbing. The marsh and canals there are shallow.

Not worth throwing a cast net.
There are a lot of finger Mullet.
Lot of Crabs.
But when water gets hot, Crabs hide.
