Default Toledo Bend Solo Trip 7-7-13

Overcast morning with slight fog early and a breeze had the fish very active early. Had 8 keepers by 630 am on crankbait (6XD) and several throwbacks. The bite only got hotter around 7am. Culled to 6 fish over 2lbs and played catch and release for 30 min on over 10 spotted bass. The barfish tried to get in on the action so i kept a few of those. Great solo trip and way to end the 4 day vacation! All fish caught on Texas side in 15-24ft of water. Was back at the camp for 745am and some coffee!!!

Cool thanks much... you would know if the mayflies were going... there would have been insane topwater bites very early and very late... huge schools of fish blowing up all over when it happens

Then yes... the bass are schooling all along the south side of Texas. From the damn all the way to Oilwell branch...I never knew it was associated with Mayflies...
