I heard it before. We used to hunt a really big lake in the marsh. Alot of times we would have birds land just out of range. Used to love sitting there and listening to them. Scaup make some crazy sounds.

Yea, kinda different sounds for bluewings,
I guess that I am calling to the Greenwing Teal. Their recorded calls are more traditional. Bluewings will come to greenwing whistles and quacks. My favorite trick is to put out a few mottled duck decoys in my teal spread. They are bigger and not uncommon in September, it seems to work for me. Not a problem mistaking one of those big boys for a teal. |
