Breton Sound Marina is a good launch. Also, Campo's is some really fine folks. Although they are technically in Shell Beach. Very close neighbors and both carry live bait.
I fish mostly with live bait but, I would think that whatever plastics are productive elsewhere would work in this area. My son does well with Gulp Shrimp in pearl white and new penny. The marsh along Bayou St. Malo between Bayou Loutre and Lake Borgne is close. Fishing the "sound" side of the MRGO dam is good. And, the rocks where the MRGO empties into Breton Sound is a popular spot. Hope this helped. Good luck. |

This time of year the rigs in Breton Sound and Bay Eloi as well as the MRGO rocks are all good

try using a sliding cork setup set abut 1/3-1/2 the water depth at the rigs with live bait or plastics and let it drift the current line on the rig, platics on a jighead, also live bait or platic carolina rigged

If you are gonna run into the sound the back levee canal can be kinda tricky. Follow somebody out your first time. Right when you get to where it intersects with the MRGO, stay to the right the left side is VERY shallow
