Who wants to join gooh? You are one of your kiddos? Our boy wants to take mma classes. We have a gym picked out but he cant start before he has a drivers license. No way to get him to training umless he can drive himself. I really apreciate the young kids that want to learn the disipline of fighting.

Me, then the kids once I feel out the place. It's been difficult with the places being on the other side of town and my schedule, now I've got something a mike down the road - going meet with John today.

Jiu Jitsu still respects their belts and actually believes in earning them, as opposed to other arts where if you shop around you can find someone to put you on a timeline and payment plan...

This is just what I've heard from fighters, I don't know for a fact, but trust them based on their track record.

My son goes to jui jitsu in lake Charles. He has actually got to wrestle Royce Gracie. The belts are earned. I can promise you that.

VFA Round 4 coming in August at the Rosa Hart Theater in the Civic Center. We had fantastic fights this past January. Both Amateur and Pro bouts. A vey family oriented atmosphere.

John is legit good school great coach.. It's a great work out and you will enjoy it.. We have run into him at tournaments all over an he is very good..

We start all of our members in jiu jitsu and then if they prove to be ready to move the mma then we move them.. We have a lot of members who strictly stay in jiu jitsu and compete in local and state tournaments

Former UFC fighter Tim Credur has a gym in Lafayette. My buddy brings his young daughter there and goes himself. He really likes it and his girl is like 7 and she will strangle you.

My buddy Christian is a trainer there, he is the one who told me John had a place here. I wish it were closer, can't bring myself to trek clear across Lafayette in the afternoon after running the roads all day as it is!

Jiu Jitsu belts are earned. If you want to move from a blue belt to a purple belt, you better be able to "hang" wit the purple belts. I've been out of it for over 10 years but from what I remember, the kids were awarded different colored belts until they reached 16. Then they were treated as adults and were awarded a blue belt when they deserved one.

They are off of Ridge Road. Give them a try before making a decision.

Good timing! That was cool to listen to, their lineage is awesome to research.

Trained today and had a blast.

For the last month I've been going twice a week for a total of about 6 hours, and love it. The workout is better than anything I've done, super intense and friendly for a beginner.

If you're in the area, come by and try it out. Pricing is real good right now being that the school is new.
