Default Laccassine Reserve Streeters Canals 3/29/14

Fished Streeters Canal this morning. Fished 50 yards of bank and sheered my trolling motor pin. I think great extra pins are in my salt water tackle box. I had my dogs with me so I left the cork in the water so they wouldn't get tangled in it. The wind picked up and started to blow me into the bank. So I cranked up the motor to move out of the wind. BIG MISTAKE. I hear that solo reel screaming. Oh S T!!!!. So now I am dead in the water. No trolling motor or engine now. What a way to start a trip. I had to use my little telescopic paddle and paddle to the bank. While paddling a 100 yards to the only hard bank see I think boy isn't fishing fun. Well I get to the bank stand knee deep in water remove prop and fix trolling motor with a catfish hook. I end up catching 19 sacs, 1 bass, 3 bream and a ton of throw back goggle eyes. I had a blast. There were about 8 boats sac fishing with shiners. Those guys couldn't buy a fish. They were starting to get mad cuz I would go behind them and catch fish where they could not......lol. Solid colored Chartreuse jigs was the ticket fished 10 in deep tight to any type of cover. Everyone I talked to said the past few weekends they have been catching good numbers and sized sacs. They all said it was slow and the fronts have hurt the fishing.
