Eric Hellbach with Bisso Marine and crew made it into the lodge yesterday evening. Chef Rickie Daigle did his thing cooking us up a Mexican feast for Cinco De Mayo. We ate like kings and enjoyed the sunset out the back porch! Our morning plans were shot due to the increased winds, so we just made a adjustment. No problem,
as we had the yellow mouths coming into the Bluewave as soon as the Power Pole hit the mud.
Shrimp Creole Matrix Shad under a cork and Green Hornet tight lined did the trick. We put a good lick on the trout in the first hour of daylight before the bite shut down. We tried a few other locations with no luck, then switched gears to reds and drum. Our first spot only found a few eaters. Moved and moved and finally got on a quick bite adding about 7 fish. Pushing noon time the guys were ready to get back to the lodge and enjoy the incredible lunch Chef Rickie had waiting for us. Good times as always with these guys, thanks for the continued business.
