I added about 18 inches to my front casting deck last year. I put two new hatch lids with storage boxes in and I was surprised at how much weight it added to the front of my boat. It really change the ride of my boat so much that I had to put my trolling batteries in the rear to help offset the difference. It still altered the ride of my 21 foot bay boat. Just be careful about adding too much weight in the front. It may not matter on the 24 footer as much as it did on my 21 ft. I am not sure which hatch lids I used.

It gives me a lot more storage room and more walking space on the deck. Most of the difference I can correct with my trim yet it still rides a little heavy in the front. You can see the seam between the larger lids and original smaller lids. The glass guy did not do a good job transitioning the seam where it was not visible. You can purchase just the lids and let your storage be in the bottom under deck but I purchased boxes to set in with lid so contents would remain dry. I don't know why pictures posted twice but I see others with same issue. Can anyone tell me how to not post them twice. This was my 1st time posting pictures.
