![]() Shying away from anything touchscreen just because i feel it's one more thing to break. Any opinion on that? Are the touchscreen GPS's more reliable than I am thinking they are? |

I've been using a Garmin etrex 30 with a topocard in it. It has the same basic operating system as their touch screen but it's not a touchscreen. I've had good luck so far with Garmin products.

The Navionics app for the iphone works great for a handheld.

You can actually download the section of mapping for the area you're going to be in to the phone so that you're not using cell service. Works just like a regular handheld at that point.

I have a Garmin with the Birdseye imagery subscription. You can download aerial photos to the GPS. I don't really use it much for fishing other than locating some of the reefs in Big Lake but I'm sure the aerial photos would be great for marsh fishing.
Mine is the GPSMAPS 62S... I stayed away from the touchscreen because I have gloves on a lot of times while I'm riding my ATV and hunting. I have seen nothing but great reviews on the Oregon touchscreen models. |
