Default Lake Charles fireworks by boat?

I was wanting to take the family out on the boat Friday to watch the firework show from the water.
I know the show is on the lake right by I-10 bridge and was going to launch from Prien lake.

Is there any advice anyone can give toward how they like the boats to be while in the lake? I'm sure there will be plenty of boats to follow along with but just curious.

Go early. Stay late. There is always a rush of people who arrive to anchor right when they start. And pull anchor right before they end to make a mad rush to the launch. The rush to the launch is almost as bad as hunting a WMA in Arkansas at 4:01am.

Great advice guys. Do all the boats just anchor individually or is it the norm to make a big floatilla? I was planning on trying to fish some lights or something after the show.

If anyone is out on the water tomorrow be on the lookout for a 21' blue nautic star with a big t-top and blue deck lights. Swing by and say high.

We usually watch from a friends wharf on the lake...there's always a ton of people getting pulled over...I thought about going out there in my boat but I think I'll just tag along with this guy^^^

They go straight for the ones without proper navigation lights. You would be surprised to see how many boats go out there with ZERO lights on the boat....Make sure your running lights and stern light is functioning properly..

I like to avoid crowds on the water. Most of the time we go fishing there are only a few trailers in the parking lot. The last few times at the jetties, we were the only trailer in the lot, which is typical of weekday afternoons.

Made the mistake of putting the boat in the water a couple of weeks ago at a busy ramp on the weekend. Shoulda stayed home. Definitely not fishing this weekend. We have some quiet family activities planned, but we'll be fishing later in July.
