Mark and Robbie joined me on the Bluewave today. The guys wanted to make a hunt so we started late. The late start might have made a big difference today since the majority of the action came on the falling tide which we only had for about an hour. I thought a limit of reds was going to be a no brainer with Mark starting us off as soon as the boat stopped with 3 keeper reds. He was throwing the bunker tsunamis which I included a picture of what the reds were eating. Talk about match the hatch! The water temperature was 50.8 when we started and finished at 54. We worked the area for the first hour and put a decent mess of reds and trout together with a lonely flounder. The rat reds were also thick. The trout preferred the Green Hornet Matrix bounced off the bottom. Once the tide switched and started to come in things got real tough. We made a bunch of moves but from the tide switch we had to grind it out the rest of the afternoon. I'm not sure how the morning bite was but from talking with a handful of boats and the guy running the Jugs dock the afternoon bite was tough. If you're fishing, stick with the falling tide, it creates less area for the fish to go which will increase your catch. Thanks Capt. Marty for setting up the trip.
