Fuel system blues
This morning I woke to find the brass conection spewing gas in the morning sun and the 3 gallons of gas had run into the boat and out the back to the grass. Dang good thing I don't smoke and we are preying the gas soaked in before it got to the tree by the boat. It seems the needle valve on the conection dont work anymore so when I disconected the hose and the tank pressured up it syphoed the gas out. So now almost 200 $ later its back to the store for a conection.AAAAARRRRRGG!!!!!! |

I just got lucky and they had a conection at napa/western auto in town saved me a trip to the boat place. Another 15 $ for the brass fuel conection with the needle valve that works. So far so good. Now I find some of the electric conections are coroded or something and the bilge pump and depth finder dont work. I am getting too fat and old to be chasing wires but cant afford to pay it done so here I go.

While you working on them connections there's this stuff called liquid electrical tape... I use it on all my connections and never a corrosion problem...I put it on all my connections on my foot control of my freshwater troll motor I use in saltwater and never a problem...

I use the liquid tape stuff and had to buy a new bottle a while back and I think the cost has doubled in the last few years.

Oh just blame the increasing price of liquid tape on lowering gas prices lol.
