I like 3 days before and 3 days after full and new moon. On a full moon I've always done better in afternoon. JMO

In spring and summer the 3 days after the new and full moon are my favorite.

Them guys put in the work though day in and out, For the regular guys that fish a few times a month the tide charts and moon charts could help save a day!

They'll eat every day. Focus on the major and minor time (solunar tables) and be at your best spots during those times and try not to be running somewhere during those times. They will eat mid day is on fullmoon. Even if they fed all night, shrimp digest fast and a trouts metabolism this time of year is plenty fast, so they'll be ready to eat again sometime during that day...it's just a matter of trying to be at the right place at the right time with the right current and structure.

I look at some of these replies and just scratch my head....you wanna see on a particular day when you wanna fish and see when the moon rises and sets...for example, if moon rises at 3am and sets at 4pm ,add up the hours and divide by 2 . that would be 930am and would be when the moon is passing over the area you want to fish...if 930 is moonover ,basically 730 to 1130 the fishing will be best....the moonunder would be at 930pm...that's the minor feeding time....I don't fish at night lol....other factors like tide movt, wind play a factor too as you know.....good luck

Also Barometer plays a part too on tide.

All good info here. I use the moon and tide times as a tool, not an ultimate factor. There's always current moving somewhere in the bay no matter what the weather is doing. It's nice when it matches up and you can be on the structure where the fish are with a good current and a predicted major or minor feed time.

I have found that the solunar tables are more important than the moon phases. Need to know when the moon sets and rises and how that coincides with the currents. Fish eat during these times and need to find what is major and minor feeding times. If a moonset or rise coincides with the sunset and rise you will also have increased activity at those times. Those are the days people got out and limit before the sun is all the way up lol.

Moon phase doesn't dictate when I fish, just where or how I'll fish, and not so much because of what phase the moon is in as because of tide.

Generally a big moon brings bigger tide swings, and as cripley said, current follows the moon.

Since there is a lot of variance in the tide depending on where you are in the estuary I'll move to areas that will have more favorable tides/water movement at the time I'm fishing. The tough and time consuming part is learning the tide differential for various areas. Since I primarily fish the marsh that can get real tricky because you can be in one pond where the water is rising, and a nearby pond may still have falling water.

I was not convinced about the solunar tables till i spent 3 nights on the GI bridge watchin the big trout under the lights . we were catching a few dinks and whites. guy sitting on his ice chest told me i was wasting my time . fish were not ready to eat yet?
I asked him how he knew that they weren't ready to eat ? He said solunar tables.
he explained the tables and told me we had about 45 min till the dinner bell would ring.
after about 30 min he got up and got his gear ready and started looking at his watch. . he told me to drop my lure and it hit the waqter and i jigged it maybe twice and nice trout. i pulled mine in and dropped down and caught one we took turns under that light till we had a limit.
yes we still caught a few dinks and whites but the keeper trout went on a tear. he told me what time to meet him the next night and it was the same way.
Was out in a boat out of leeville a few months back. 2-3 trout for the morning all of a sudden the fish went feeding and i was catching doubles of solid keeper trout . looked at the chart and it was within 5 min of when the chart said they would start feeding. are there other variables? yes. but i do believe in the charts
