![]() The inshore fishing for Red fish is excellent right now. The first two weeks in July was a little tough, but still very productive. If you hit the right spot the first thing in the morning it was non-stop action until about 9:00 a.m. most days. So, basically right place-right time was the key as it always seems to be. It has been an early morning bite for the most part. After about 9:00 or 10:00 am most days you had to work for them. The flounder have started to show up in some pretty good numbers. They usually do about this time of the year with September and October being the best months. We had an unusually high river level for this time of the year in our area, however, it really didn’t affect the fishing any. For redfish in some cases it made the bite better. When the river water gets to low the redfish scatter and aren’t as bunched up as they are when the river is higher. So if you hit the right spot most days you can catch a bunch. As we move into August and the September time frame the fishing should remain very consistent. This is when we do a lot of top water fishing for Bull Reds so that it a whole lot of fun for most. We are also still targeting slot reds, flounder, and trout. We have some open days from now through October.
