![]() Looked for bait around I-210 and didn't find much, so we ran north to casino area. Caught a few trout and one red, then left when water stopped moving around noon, went back to bridge and caught some bait. Went back up north and didn't find much, so we ran south and fished til about 3pm. Picked up a couple more trout and two reds. Water seemed to be moving periodically, strong then slack, and the bite was the same. Had a great time and learned some things about the area. Thankful for another day on the water. Also saw a ton of kayaks and later saw it was a tournament. I slowed down when I passed them in the channel not wanting to swamp anyone, but didn't see other boats doing this. What is the protocol for that? The tides4fishing.com has info from the south end of the lake, but how should it be interpreted for the prien/northern area (lag, tide, moon up, moon over, etc)? |

IMO you have two options stay on step trip up to create as little wake as possible or slow down way before them and idle creating NO wake. Unless your in a narrow canal I prefer the trim up and haul a*# method.
As long as you don't do the 8 knot troll throwing a huge wave it should be all good. |

I'm a kayaker, as long as you're on plane, stay there. Small jon boats don't make much difference either way but a big boat swamps more when it gets off plane. Thanks for your consideration, I appreciate it...but you don't have to by any means. Glad you caught some fish. ..by the way...I was NOT fishing in the tournament, timing didn't work out.

Another consideration for kayaks and any people fishing in a boat.........Is to stay 200+ yards away from them.
When there is plenty of water to go way around another person that is fishing, there is no reason to pass 50 yards from them. |

Thank you! When I'm in my kayak, my biggest complaint is when someone motors right over the area I'm catching fish. Just because you struck out, it doesn't mean you need to ruin my day' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Agreed. Stay on plane. I appreciate people care enough to slow down but it makes very little difference as long as you stay a little ways off

You are responsible for your boat's wake, but the ship channel pilots don't seem to follow that rule.
My boat runs very shallow so it leaves very little wake at full throttle, so I either slow to a no-wake speed or stay on step. |

Just curious if you were fishing those areas, why did you not launch at Prien lake Park Ramp? Also if you go to the left of the 210 bridge heading north before the casino there is a bay there with a Ramp that is a great place to get bait. I go there from shore often to cast net for bait. Anyway great catch.
