Default question about fishing under the birds

I have a 20 foot sea hunt and have tried to catch the specs under the birds. However, each time i approach the birds and no matter how slow or fast I approach them, they take to the sky. I think it may be because either the boat is bright white or the center console is kind of high, or the whole boat itself sits pretty high off the water. any of you guys have any tips or suggestions?

These birds you speak of. Are they just sitting on the water?

Stop waxing that thing. Maybe after it dulls a bit you'll have better luck.

Fish under diving birds. Birds just sitting on the water are not good. I ease up with my trolling motor if at all possible.

I've been bringing duck decoys fishing with me for years. It all makes sense now.

The specks actually follow the birds. Get some seagull decoys and put them out with some bread. Gulls will come and so will the fish

Paint your boat blue to camouflage it from the birds and the fish.

If you want a record sail cat just throw a top water where you see a bunch of Pelicans sitting on the water.

There's so much great advice on this thread I can hardly believe it. I'm definitely going to try the bread and seagull decoy technique. I assume that I could pick some up at Academy...i'll bet they are expensive though since they work so well.

I would get that console cut down; the higher profile boats spook the birds much more. The birds in S. Texas and Florida spook easily for some reason, and that's what they use low profile flats boats.

Sometimes I take my Banded Gear Max4D camo sneak boat out and hammer the specks under the birds.
