Around Lafayette/Youngsville, they have been $35-$37 for 5 pounds, boiled. Only $7.40 per pound! But they were good! Starting to come down a little.

I've talked with a few farmers in the last week or two. They are having a lot of problems. Most are getting $2/lb or less. Some were told to stop running traps because the plants weren't buying any. There has been a lot of dead crawfish. Plants are losing 40-60% of what they bring in in some cases because the crawfish are dying. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Plus all the high water we are getting Probably going to negatively affect the crawfish prices and keep them high |

prices normally drop after Easter Sunday, don't know if that will happen this year.

They?ve fallen $1 per pound in the past week here in Lafayette area. If the supply gets cranking they will have no choice but to keep lowering the price. Whether it?s before Easter or not.

2.25/# live here in lafayette last weekend. Straight field run mix. Boiled a 30# sack on Sunday as a warm up run. Size was ok for this time of the season. Nothing to brag about.
Boiled looks to be 4-5$/# at to-go places and 6-7/# at the local restaurants. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk |

Hard to image low oxygen in the water considering all the rains we've been having.

Me too, but when the price falls more, I can invite more.
We start with one sack, then two and three, and then have a yard full of souls. Also always add that Boiled Boston Butt, at 99 cent a pound to expand the bellies |

Not low oxygen causing them to die, they have been in a molt for 2 weeks. Any chance is weather, full moon, lots of rain and it sends them into one, we threw away about 300 lbs of dead loss in the last 2.5 weeks at my place. Size this week is great and started getting graded large today. Price will stay high to much demand for $1.00 lb nice size crawfish.
