Drive around and launch at the west cove landing... you will already be at the southwest corner. Or, enter at east entrance (next to ship channel) and run North of rabbit island... make sure you stay on plane. Do not run too close to the edges of the land. And like the others said watch out for low tide! Or a strong North wind blowing for a day or two!

Big Nasty,
Is that West Cove landing big enough for a bay boat? One of my buddies mentioned a landing near West Cove but he said it would not be a big enough launch for a bay boat. |

West cove is plenty big enough to launch a bay boat. Watch out for the crab traps at the entrance to the cove.

I put a 24' skeeter in there.......plenty big enough, good landing too. Just watch the crab traps at the mouth, like an obsticle course!

WC landing is nice!
The landing is nice... a bay boat will definately fit. The landing is on the north side of the west cove cut. You come in... launch the boat... then park the trailer near where you came in.

Typographical error (bet your brother can't spell that one), basically the same motor as the 40 hp Merc. But it is really cool to see those floats explode when the prop hits them. Don't understand why the Feds allow them to block the entrance to the canal like they do.
