Default Dularge Fishing

Just wrapped up 3 days of fishing on the DU! Although we had 3 great weather days the area is still not producing any trout at all. I fished everywhere I know and could not catch a single trout or even a legal redfish under 27 inches. The water has been very low and fishing the ponds for reds has not been possible. Next week does not look any better as a big strong front is coming in Sunday and will blow out all the water and the muddy conditions will continue to plague us. We just can't get a break. I've been fishing Dularge nearly 40 yrs and never have I seen it this bad in the middle of the spring. Usually we're catching limits of trout & reds by this time but its just not happening for us right now. However, we did catch plenty bull reds in the 20-25lb range all 3 days along with some big nasty blackdrum. We can catch bull reds all day long but theres not much demand for them. Mostly catch and release as we only kept some of the 15-18lb reds for the grill. I refuse to book any trout trips until we find some to catch and I hope it will be soon. My livelihood depends on catching trout as this is the nature of my business. It does no good to mislead people as its hard to make it in this business without repeat customers. I'm confident our great trout fishing will return and I'm patiently waiting for things to come together. Good luck fishing.
