When I got on the Sac-a-lait on Chicot a few years back it was from about 4:30-Dark. It was realllly good. I have had some stinker days out there, so I feel ya there.
On a side note. I believe there are chain pickerel in Chicot, not pike. The state record is 5.2 pounds. http://www.landbigfish.com/statereco...ords.cfm?ID=42

I am gonna give it a whirl on Friday. Hopefully we catch some White Perch. I'll let ya'll know. Hopefully Chicot isn't Chicot
