Find pipes coming out of levee controlled marshes also. We have done well around those. As far as treble or j hooks go. Everyone has their preference, but we have had done just as good on both. I use freon drums hooked to a 5 ft piece of steel wire. The alligators tend to get our white jugs. I also prefer live scaled mullet. The crabs tend to tear up the dead and cut ones. Good luck!
