It is still there, big jack up on it!!
I posted this same thing the other day! Just go to the 4-post, it is a hot spot, and there are hardly ever any boats |

not going to give out the coordinates, but if you head due south of Marsh Island 10 miles and you will see a henweigh marking the old spot

It was refered to as "the leaner" at least that what we always called it. And yes the shell pad is still there and its one of the biggest pads in that area.

No, but it has a piecost attached which will give direction of tidal flow as it always rides down current from the henweigh. Don't try to tie off the piecost, not that strong. Hard to find henweigh when its choppy.

You think I could tie off to that piecost if I brought my own cable-stretcher, or maybe even a sky-hook?

I had all the good coordinates for Shell pads on my GPS from 15-20 years ago written down as well as on my first hand held GPS. Between living in Brazil for seven years and a few moves that is all gone.
One day I will spend some time on my companies internal GIS program writing down coordinates for all the old platforms that were removed then go on a scouting trip with either my down imaging sonar or a work side scan sonar to find some good pads. But so far this year we have been scratching a few fish at all the known spots. |
